SPIA’s August 2016 General Meeting and Picnic

Happy Summer to All,

This Saturday, August 13th is the second SPIA general meeting at
9:30 am under the tent at Little Beach. We will follow with our Ice
Bucket Challenge for ALS (approx. 10:45 am) and then the Annual
Picnic under the tent at 5:30 pm. Martin Traywick has generously
offered to donate $10 per participant in the challenge so we hope
to see many of you there! The general meeting itinerary is
summarized below.

5:30 pm: SPIA Picnic – click here to sign up

Our neighbor, David Cowan, had been kind enough to donate two
of his photographs to us as a fund raiser (see them below). We
will have a silent auction at the picnic for the two photos. They are
beautiful scenes of Halls Creek and will go to the highest bidders.
All proceeds will go to SPIA, Inc. so bid early and often.
I need to correct myself on my letter in this spring’s SPIA
Newsletter. In that letter I stated there would be an election at the
upcoming meeting due to the fact that my term was coming to an
end. After re-reading the SPIA by-laws, I realized I had misread
them. I was elected to the Presidency in June of 2014 to serve a
four year term from August 2014 through August of 2018 so I
actually have two more years to go. Sorry for the confusion,
hopefully anyone that was planning on running didn’t spend too
much on their campaign!

Itinerary:
1) Opening comments and approval of minutes – Charlie
2) Discussion of Budget – Dan
3) Events – Marsha and Denise
4) Infrastructure – Mike
5) Security – Charlie
6) Osprey nest – Charlie
7) New business
If you know of anyone on your street that does not get email,
please pass along to them that these events are taking place this
weekend. We will also be posting a notice on the message board
and at the Post Office.

All the best,
Charlie Cormay
